Type and Habit:  Upright conical shrub. Australian Native.
Average Height:  2 – 5m, best kept up to 3m.
Soil:  Prefers a moist well drained soil with plenty of organic matter although will tolerate sandy or clay soils. Mulch well and fertilise annually.
Aspect:  Full sun to part shade.
Foliage:  Acmena 'Cherry Surprise' has fine, narrow, dark green, shiny foliage which responds well to regular trimming. the new growth is a beautiful glossy red.
Flowers:  Fluffy white flowers in summer followed by pretty bunches of white to pink berries.
Uses: Makes a dense hedge or screen can be kept to a lower more formal hedge from 1m. Perfect for topiary work, great in large tubs or as a specimen shrub.
Features:  The new foliage which flushes throughout the year is a stunning rich burgundy-red. Acmena Cherry Surprise has a naturally dense and bushy habit and is low maintenance once established.
