Type and Habit: A dense lightly weeping medium shrub.
Average Height: 2 – 2.5m x 1 – 2m Soil: Thrives in moist sandy or clay-loam soils, mulch well and fertilise annually in spring. Aspect: Full sun or light shade, tolerates mild frost. Foliage: Glossy mid green leaves and lettuce green new growth. Prune spent flowers in summer regularly to promote autumn flowering. Prune harder occasionally to maintain shape or for hedge development. Flowers: Large cardinal red, bird attracting brushes highlight the foliage in spring and summer. Uses: Plant as specimens or groups in gardens or streetscapes, as hedges, or in a large tub. Features: A hardy native with an eye catching floral display, bird attracting, coastal gardens, needs little additional watering once established.
