Type and Habit:  Evergreen, spreading perennial.
Average Height:  20-30cm.
Soil:  Moist, well drained soil with plenty of organic matter. Fertilise annually and mulch well.
Aspect:  Full sun to part shade, should be kept moist in full sun.
Foliage:  Large, very glossy, coppery purple foliage. Use snail pellets – Multiguard is safe for pets and the environment.
Flowers:  The bright, intense blue flowers are held on spikes above the foliage.
Uses: Excellent groundcover for the shade or a moist spot in the sun. Great in pots, borders, foliage colour contrast.
Features:  The foliage texture and colour is outstanding and very glossy and the plant grows quickly in the right conditions. Intense blue flowers in spikes contrast well above the purple foliage.This plant is normally associated with shaded gardens but does well in full sun provided adequate moisture is available.
