Type and Habit: Evergreen clumping perennial
Average Height: 500mm, clumps can grow quite wide eventually if not divided. Soil: Best growth in moist well drained soil but adaptable to clay and sandy soils. Fertilise in early spring. Aspect: Full sun to shade, flowers better in a sunny spot or under a deciduous tree. Foliage: Strap like foliage is dark green and up to 500mm long. Flowers: Blue/ mauve heads of tubular flowers are held on long stems above the foliage in late spring and early summer. Remove spent flower heads. Uses: Massed as a ground cover, bank binder, often used under deciduous trees, in pots or borders. Looks very pretty when combined with white agapanthus.
