Type and Habit: Tightly growing, fairly erect, clumping bamboo.
Average Height: To 7m but can be kept shorter
Soil: Fairly adaptable but grows better with a moist soil, a good mulch and plenty of fertiliser.
Aspect: Full sun to part shade. Tolerates light frost.
Foliage: Fine distinctly arranged leaves.
Flowers/ fruit: n/a
Uses: Screen or feature plant and excellent in large pots. Can be hedged easily - bear in mind you only need to cut each new cane to size once.
Features: A beautiful smaller bamboo, the new culms are gold striped green turning reddish with age.
