Oregano   (Origanum vulgare)
Type and habit: Sprawling perennial herb forming a dense matt of dark green heart shaped leaves. 200-400mm x 400mm
Cultivation: Well drained soil and sunny to part shade position.
Culinary Uses: Spicy flavour for pizza and tomato sauces, a good antioxidant. An important ingredient in Mediterranean and Mexican food. Often used dry. Oregano goes with – chicken, dried beans, eggplants, eggs, grilled fish, kid, lamb, lemons, olives, rice, sweet peppers, sweet corn, tomatoes, white cheese.
