Type and Habit: Australian native palm with single or multi trunk and broad crown of fronds.
Average Height: Up to 20m with a crown of up to 6m spread Soil: Tolerates poor soils but will be much shorter, taller in richer soils and quick growing with reliable moisture and fertiliser. Mulch well. Aspect: Full sun to shade, best with some shelter Foliage: Dark green fronds can be up to 3m in length. Flowers: Cascading, cream flower stalks just below crown with mauve flowers and then red bird attracting berries. Uses: Canopy for tropical gardens, avenue planting, pots, tropical effect, soil binder for banks and waterways. Features: Graceful, hardy palm with self cleaning fronds.
