Aloe 'Big Red' is a large drought and cold tolerant Aloe which can form a shrub and has spectacular rich red flowers in winter.
Type and Habit:  Large branching evergreen succulent.

Soil:  Best in fertile well drained soil good drainage is very important. Minimal water required but can handle significant rain once established. Allow surface of soil in pots to dry out before watering. Less water in winter. Watering in dry weather promotes foliage growth
Aspect:  Full sun for best performance but will tolerate part shade mild frost tolerance once established
Foliage:  The unusually large chunky green leaves form a neat rosette form this large tall stemming hybrid is also capable of branching and forming a shrub.
Flowers:  Multiple flower heads are produced in midwinter with each head containing a wonderful display of rich red flower clusters.
Uses: Suitable for landscape use or as a feature plant in any garden.
